"We Are Sisters"
Throughout my life I have been a witness to the reaction my mother gets after talking with everyday run of the mill people, many used to say "Your mom is so real" and so on. I never really knew what to say, I thought my mom was just being a mom, educated at that! Recently I realized that my mother is a "Konscious" Light Being and always has been "AWAKE". I just want to thank her for being honest with me and for guiding me in the right direction as a Kem woman, I love you Mom.
I love my mom most of all because she taught me and my sistar how to love and protect each other, despite people being in disbelief that me and my sister are related at all. I came from a mother that had 4 children including me, two are light skinned and two are brown skinned. Growing up in a society where people just assume your nationality and culture based off skin color did not make life easy. I remember when my older sister went off to college and when I went to visit her, lets just say her dorm buddies did not believe we were sistars. When she introduced me as her sistar, they had a look on their face of shock and dismay, like wait a minute this brown skinned girl is your sister. It did not have to be spoken in order for us to understand the confusion on their faces. That is just one instance me and my sister joking laughed and said "Yeah", then a comment was made about our smiles being similar.
So I say this to say that no matter what society says about difference in skin tones, my heart was always strong enough to know none of that mattered. I understand Queens of Earth come in all different shades and I am so honored to have a Sistar Queen that shares the same morals and values in life as I do. Love your sistar no matter what she looks like!
